My Graduation Look + sweet surprise

Last Sunday was truly memorable.
Now I could proudly say that I'm a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
It was never an easy road. After 5 years, my hard work paid off.

This look is what I wore on my graduation day...

I'm wearing the Princess Mimi lens of course ;)
It's simple. I just used a few purple eye shadows from the NYX S114 palette.

*PRODUCTS USED*
Face:

  • Garnier Light Whiten & Even Moisturizing cream
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Medium Beige
  • Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer in no. 2
  • Victoria Secret Very Sexy Blushing Cream Duo in Heat
  • a blush powder from NYX S114 palette
*used the one in the bottom right
  • Fanny Serrano cake foundation in Toffee
Eyes:
  • Etude House Proof 10 eye primer
  • NYX S114 palette
A - applied on the eyelids
B - applied on the crease
C - applied on the lower lash line
D - applied on the tear duct/highlight
  • ELF Eyebrow Kit in Dark
  • Nichido Tru Lahes
  • Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto waterproof mascara
Lips:
  • Etude House Look at My Lips in no. 10 Spotlight Beige
  • Guerlain Kiss Kiss Gloss in no. 865
and that's it for this look...

Graduation was indeed one of the best days of my life. I didn't celebrate much after, but at least it's done. 5 years in that institution was not a total joke.
I started with nothing, meaning, I didn't know what actually the course I chose will be like.
And now, I'm well-equipped with knowledge as I step into the real world - passing the board exam.

Anyways, my boyfriend gave me a very sweet surprise that day...it's my favorite RED VELVET CAKE!
it's from Margie's Bakeshop of course...

mmm....sweet!

and we ended the day with a one-on-one
LOL it's that beer from San Miguel with 3% alc content and it's lemon flavoured
Yes, I drink occasionally right now, unlike the very first years in college, I do drink a lot.

I salute to all the graduates of batch 2012. May God continually bless them and guide them in the right path.
Congratulations! - k*

I've always wanted to have a pair of this one from the Princess Mimi series. I'm not really a fan of circle lens, but so far it isn't that bad. I love the result but still I'm trying to get used to it since it's my first time.

For those of you who have tried these lens, I want to know your honest opinions. I would really appreciate that :) - k*

On my list: Hello Ginger!

Hi guys \o/
It's been really a busy week due to preparation and graduation practices. I know I haven't been posting much, it really makes me a bad blogger >.<
Ever since last year I have been making a list of what to buy and what to do in order to prepare for graduation. Excited much, I know.
One of my list is to..dye my hair!
Last Saturday, my aunt helped me to color my hair using the Revlon Colorsilk in Dark Auburn.
Bought in Watsons for P 395.00

Product includes the ff:

...and the results...
BEFORE

AFTER
It doesn't really make that much difference in the photo, but in person it really is a deep brownish red color which I really like.

voila!

I'm loving this product from Revlon because it's so easy to use. According to the instructions, 30 minutes is okay, but I waited for 45 minutes before I rinsed it...plus the conditioner smells nice and it definitely leaves your hair smooth and silky. - k*

Sinful Red Lips

So, this is going to be my first mini tutorial post for you, guys.
I have always been a fan of Adele
When I saw her on the Grammy's, not only her performance rocked, but also her look! \m/

I really love her sinful red lips. Very glamorous, classy, and  red-carpet-worthy.
Make up gurus in Youtube posted their own versions of this look, but what really caught me is Pixiwoo's make up tutorial.

Just going to skip the make up part and focus on those sexy red lips.

1.) Draw the outline of your lips using a red lip liner.

2.) After lining your lips, fill in it with the same red lip liner all over your lips.

3.) Use a lip liner with a purplish-brown color (plum) and fill in the corners of your lips.

3.) Fill your lips using a bright red lipstick (preferably a matte one) .

4.) To finish this look, add some gloss and just apply it on the middle part of your lips for that sexy plump look.

*PRODUCTS USED*
A- Nichido lip liner in Blaze
B- L.A. colors autolipliner in Currant
C- Nichido matte lipstick in Glamour
D- Laura Mercier lip glace in Plum Noir

...and that's it for this mini-tutorial in case you haven't seen Pixiwoo's tutorial.

I do hope that this post helped you to achieve that perfect red lips you can wear in any special occasion.

Battle of the eyeliners: ELF vs. In2It

I just love eyeliners.
I have an obsession about them when I was in high school...well, up to now actually.

So, today I'm going to compare these 2 great products from In2it and ELF and see who's going to win this epic battle.

First up is the ELF Cream Eyeliner.
 ELF says it's long-wearing and smudge-proof.

What I LIKE about it?
  • Very classy packaging and it comes with a brush.
  • contains about 5 g of the product.
  • available in 11 shades.
  • True! It's long-wearing and smudge-proof.
What I DON'T LIKE about it?
  • It's not available in every mall here in Davao except for SM. Most of the time you can only buy this online.
  • It's P249.75 here in the Philippines, but its original price in the US is $ 3.00 (P 128.00)
With this kind of eyeliner, you have to put some eyelid primer on before applying so that it stays. It doesn't need a heavy base actually. I highly recommend this one to people with sweaty eyelids.

...and then there's the In2it Waterproof Gel liner

In2it says it's WATERPROOF...
What I LIKE about it?
  • It's in a pencil form.
  • It comes with a sharpener.
  • Lightweight and not bulky on my make up kit.
  • Can be found in almost all Watsons and Department stores in the country.
What I DON'T LIKE about it?
  • EXPENSIVE for its size...it's P 379.75
  • Limited shades available.
  • Not for people with sweaty eyelids or else it would smudge... hello panda eyes!
  • Not really suitable for the Philippine weather.
*SWATCHES*

The winner for this battle of the eyeliners is:

ELF CREAM EYELINER

That's it for this post.
I do hope this helps you decide to buy the perfect but inexpensive eyeliner.
I'm not totally pointing out that In2it's a bad one, but I just prefer that the ELF one is better than In2it.

Have you tried either of these products? Let me know ;)
'till next time - k*

Hello Hollywood!

It's time for a Hollywood-inspired look...
I'm not really a huge fan of American Idol until last season.
Anyways, I was watching AI last Thursday night, and I saw the top 12 girls rocked the stage.
I have 2 favorites for this season, and they are Erika Van Pelt and the 16-year-old Fil-Mexican, Jessica Sanchez.
 Jessica Sanchez
Erika Van pelt

Last Thursday night's episode, they may have rocked the Idol stage in their own different way, but they have one thing in common: TRENDY NUDE LIPS!...Hollywood style of course.
This inspired me to make a look for today using some neutral colors from the Lancome Color Design palette for the eyes and that signature Hollywood nude lips.

*PRODUCTS USED*

Face:
  • Garnier Light Whiten &Even Moisturizing Cream
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Medium Beige
  • Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer in no. 2
  • Laura Mercier Foundation Powder in no. 5
  • Nichido Powder Blush in Peach Glow
Eyes:
  • Etude House Proof 10 eye primer
  • Lancome Color Design eye shadow palette
  • ELF Studio Eyebrow kit in Dark
  • Maybelline Long Extreme Stiletto mascara
  • ELF Studio Cream eye liner in Black
1 - for the eyelids
2 - for lower lashes
3 - highlight
4 - for the crease

Lips:
  • Nichido lip liner in Rosette
  • NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in no. 4 Buttery Nude
  • Etude House Look at my lips in no. 10 Spotlight Beige

...and that's it for this post!
American Idol has inspired me in so many ways, guys, especially when it comes to my first love, singing.
It really makes me want to pursue my dreams. What excites me so much about the show is the finalists' own way of interpreting hit songs from past to present.

I do hope this show has inspired you in the same way that had inspired me.
If you've been in tuned for this season, who's your fave on the top 13?

Tune into Star World every Thursday and Friday, 6 PM, for the live telecast of American idol.

'till next post! - k*
