Day 2: It's rockin' time

(August 14, 2011) OMG! I can't believe that I'm here already. I've got like a few hours away from the concert at the Asia World Expo.
But before the concert, my cousin, Quoi, and my niece, Brie, gave me a tour to Jose Rizal's house in HK and the Matilda International Hospital, where my cousin Quoi works.

 Me and my niece, Brie

This bus takes you the hospital for free!
Cool right? Would you imagine that this hospital is located at the peak?! Meaning you can literally see the breathtaking view of HK from up here.
...and that was what I'm trying to say..the view looks better at night.
Oh yes! that's me holding my ticket :) aaahhh!!! excited!

After going to church, we went home and then I started to get all dolled up for the concert. We took a taxi to IFC mall, then Quoi treats me for a Bubble Tea.
Bubble Tea..mmm..love it!

And then it's time for me to go to the Asia World Expo, and it's like 4:30 in the afternoon. I have to take the airport express train, and just in time when I arrived there around 5:30 in the afternoon I saw this girl struggling her way to the concert. She looks like she's in a hurry. I asked her "Where's the entrance to hall 8?", then she replied "follow me".
We exchanged stories with each other. I found out that she flew all the way from London just for this concert. Wanna know why? Because she was the winner of that meet and greet Paramore promo by Warner Music. She was alone and that promo is gives two passes for the winner to meet the band in person. I told myself "Oh my God! I have to be with this person so that I can meet the band!". She was running so fast because she was wearing snickers, and I'm wearing damn heels! I can't run! She went ahead of me and I can't catch up with her. Damn it!
I finally found the queue and there were so many fans queuing up for the event. Luckily, I was just on time to be a part of the crowd A, meaning I'm one of those who can get in first so that I'll be closer to the stage.
While in line I met another fan and she's also alone, her name was Yasmin and she's from HK, new territories to be specific. We talked for hours 'til at 7 PM we were all allowed to come in at hall 8.

The concert started around 8:20 PM. Well, not exactly the concert, but the front act started to play their songs. It's a good thing it's an American band. They are The Swellers.

When they are finally over, there was a break for about 15 minutes, and then the event that I waited for years has finally started!

" PARAMORE! PARAMORE! PARAMORE!"
At that moment, that is all I can hear from the people around me. I can say that they are also die-hard fans like me. Since I was in high school I have always been dreaming to watch them perform live. When they had a concert in Manila, it was a very bad timing because I had my final exams that time, but this opportunity, even if it is NOT in Manila, I have to go! It's a very good timing.

What can I say about the band is..First, Hayley is a very good performer, and as a rocker chick, I love her! Her voice is so amazing when I heard it live and she really knows how to rock the crowd like there is no tomorrow. She told the audience that in every show they have she always goes home losing her voice, that is why her goal at the end of the concert is to lose all of our voices which was very effective because I almost lost mine due to excitement and crowd pressure. And of course, I won't forget Jeremy and Taylor. Those guys are amazing. Real pros I can say. How I wish I could get a jam with these guys.
(Blurry photos? blame the crowd)
I've always wanted to hear their songs Ignorance, Misery Business, Where The Lines Overlap, The Only Exception, Monster, CrushCrushCrush, and Turn It Off  LIVE!
The band's first song was Ignorance which really made me burst into happy tears because I didn't expect that. Because from the start I really wished that they'd play that song first, and when it happened, it made me realize that this concert was really meant for me.
They played When It Rains, Where The Lines Overlap, and Misguided Ghosts in their acoustic session.
They wrapped up their concert with The Only Exception, but they made an encore and they sang Misery Business, and on that encore they requested two people to come up on stage, and again I saw that lucky girl who won that meet and greet promo. I'm so jealous.
But nah! Why get so jealous when I can brag about it in the whole world that I've watched such a great concert. It was really worth the wait. Really worth of everything.

I promise to myself, when they get back to Manila, I'll definitely watch these guys again. They simply rock my world. \m/ I love PARAMORE! -k*

Oh wait! Did I forget to mention that I watched the whole concert barefooted? I removed my very high heels and I don't care if I'm wearing Steve Madden ones 'cause all I want to do that night is to rock out :p

Day 1: Travelling alone...again!

As what I've promised I'm going to post my iWalk diaries here on my blog. Didn't really have time to post blogs while I was on my trip 'cause all I wanna do is explore :)
Destination is Hong Kong, China. It's NOT my first time to go here, this is probably my fourth time since I was 9 years old. The reason why I decided to take to this trip is, first, I get a chance to watch my favorite band Paramore LIVE!, and second, since it's Kadayawan festival in Davao and all of the people is in a party mood by that time while I'm stuck in the house because my mom won't allow me to go out, I decided to spend my Kadayawan in Hong Kong with my cousins and party all night.
This photo was taken at Mactan Cebu International Airport while I was waiting for the immigration.
I also saw Katrina Halili that day at the airport with her..uhmm I dunno..boyfriend I guess.

She wasn't as beautiful as expected. I thought she was just a local model when I saw her. I just realized that she is the real Katrina Halili when a bunch of people started to take photos of her.

Well anyways, I can't stop thanking my passport for all the possibilities of going to other places.
Without this, I won't be able to visit HK over and over again. I really wished that my boyfriend would come with me to watch the concert.
So my flight was at 10:05 PM of August 13th, so my ETA in HK is 12:55 AM of August 14th. While I was on the plane I saw this article of a magazine about the events happening in Asia and one of them is Paramore LIVE! in Hong Kong. It's just because I'm an avid fan of them that I really had to take this photo or else I'd rip this page off :p
I arrived at exactly 12:35 AM, a bit earlier than I expected.
..and yes! that's the walkalator. Leading me to the immigration because I know that there will be a long queue, and I don't wanna miss the bus going home.
Actually it's my first time to ride a bus going to Central. Because I arrived around 1 AM and the trains are closed, then I really have to take the bus to Central. The bus fare is HK$31, converted that is PHP155. It's a lot cheaper than the train but it takes you to Central for about an hour and a half.

I arrived at my cousin's flat around 3 AM. I was so exhausted that I have to sleep, the concert will happen on that night and I'm so excited. So far, that's all that happened on may Day 1..it's all about travelling alone. The experience is amazing. It really teaches you how to be independent and I am so fortunate to experience that when I was still 18 years old when I had my birthday celebration for a week in HK and Macau.

So tune in for more iWalk Diaries. Will post more soon. Take care, bye! x -k*

Rockin' Night Look

Hello my fellow bloggers! Today I'm going to show you this rockin' night look. It's basically my own version of going to a rock concert look, that's because this Sunday, August 14, I'm going to watch Paramore live! in Hong Kong, and due to my excitement I even made a look for it :p

This is inspired by one of the leading actresses of Skins series 3 and 4, Kaya Scodelario (known as Effy on Skins). I love her look in this series because it's all about smokey eyes.

So here's is my look:

(I know! Camera is a bit horrible, it just goes to show that Nikon is better than Canon :p)

As you can see I put a bit of blue eye shadow on my lower lashes just to give the eyes a bit of color and this doesn't make the look plain and boring.

Here's the summary of the products I used:

Face:
- Maybelline Smooth Result Age Minimizing Make Up in Light #5
- Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer in no. 2
- Laura Mercier Foundation Powder in no. 5
- Etude House Dear Darling Tint in no. 2
- Revlon Beyond Natural Blush and Bronzer in no. 400
- Victoria Secret Very Sexy Blushing Cream Duo in Heat

Eyes:
- Etude House Proof 10 eye primer
- Maybelline Eyeliner and Eyebrow pencil in 001 Noir Andalou
- Revlon Illuminance creme shadow limited edition 10-shade palette
(*eye shadow used)
- Shu Uemura single eye shadow in P blue 655
- Estee Lauder Projectionist High Definition Volume Mascara in Black
- Nichido Eye Pencil in Brown

Lips:
-NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Smokey Look

Important tips for this look:
*Apply the eyeliner on your upper lash line up to the half of your eyelid, then apply brown eye shadow from halfway of the lid to the crease.
*For the cheeks, apply first the tint then top it with a bronzer. It just gives a fresher and healthier look.
*For the lips, apply first a concealer, do not use foundation powder because it gives you that cracked-lip look, then top it with your fave lip gloss.

..and that's all for this look. I hope you try it. You can wear this look in rock concerts or even just a night out with your friends.
Stay tuned for more as I'll be posting my iWalk Diaries soon. 'til next time, bye! -k*
